My feet upon a narrow path.
I walked upright.
I arose in the blue hour.
I ate as I was given.
Bread, upon my table.
Your love, within.
Yet, all of my days became night.
I sewed sackcloth upon my skin
And have laid my strength in the dust.
I arose to look for you.
Songs have gone out from me.
I walked beside the river.
I gave my dance to you.
I filled books of your love
and consumed some myself.
Now, I lay in silence.
My mind has left the known.
My pain has dug within me.
What has been done
to cause this land to be
a desolate place?
I wander
and keep my gaze down.
For what comfort has any?
What wisdom has any of paradise?
